Installnet Staff Spotlight: Dipshana Shrestha
Technology touches nearly every part of how we work at Installnet, from managing projects internally to connecting with customers and service providers across North America. Today, we’re spotlighting Dipshana Shrestha, who works closely with teams across the company to understand their needs, identify opportunities for improvement, and help turn those ideas into solutions that make day-to-day work easier.
Meet: Dipshana Shrestha
Role: Business Systems Analyst
Time with Installnet: 9 months
What does a typical day look like for you?
I really enjoy the variety of my role. I spend a lot of time talking with different teams to understand their needs and find ways to improve our in-house applications. From there, I gather requirements, collaborate with our developers, and test new features before they’re rolled out. I also help troubleshoot issues as they come up. It’s rewarding to see an idea evolve into a solution that makes someone’s job easier.
What skills are most important in your role?
Communication, problem-solving, and attention to detail. A big part of my job is asking the right questions and making sure I fully understand what someone needs before translating that into requirements for our developers. Even a small detail can make the difference between a solution that works the way the user needs it to and one that doesn’t.
What has surprised you since joining Installnet?
I’m still learning something new every day. I had experience working with different business management systems and applications which gave me a good foundation. I also had the opportunity to work closely with users, developers, and different teams, and it taught me how to look at a system from both the user and technical side. When I joined Installnet, there was definitely a lot to learn, especially understanding the business and how all the different systems and processes connect. My previous experience helped me get up to speed quickly because I was already used to learning systems, asking questions, testing different scenarios, and working with different teams to figure things out. It also helped that everyone here was open to sharing their knowledge, which made it much easier to learn new processes and business needs.
What’s your favorite part about working at Installnet so far?
I love how everyone is genuinely willing to help and collaborate. If I have a question, I know I can go to people across different teams, and they’ll take the time to help me understand. My boss, Aaron Weinberg, has also been a great mentor. No matter how busy he is, he makes time to answer questions, offer guidance, and help me learn. Having that kind of support has made a big difference during my first eight months here.
Is there a professional goal you’re working toward?
I’m currently working toward earning my Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. It’s a challenging process, but I’m excited to continue building my project management skills and apply what I’m learning to my work.
Outside of work, what do you enjoy?
I’m definitely a homebody! I enjoy spending time with my family and fiancé and trying different restaurants and new foods. I also have two dogs, a Siberian Husky and a Pit Bull, who keep things interesting at home.
