Donation Recipient Spotlight: World Relief Quad Cities
We love happy endings. Thanks to our clients and our team’s amazing work finding homes for surplus office furniture, we get to see a lot of them.
Installnet recently sent a truckload of furniture to World Relief Quad Cities, a nonprofit serving refugees and immigrants in Western Illinois and Eastern Iowa. The tables, chairs, workstations, and appliances were pulled out of corporate offices of Ascensus in Moline, IL by our Ecoserv team.
The World Relief team, which has served more than 3,000 refugees and immigrants since 1999, was thrilled to get the furniture. Housing Manager Trisha Poole gave us this great breakdown of how they’re using the items:
🗄 The office chairs and filing cabinets are being used by Quad Cities staff
🏢 The cubicles are set up in our Scott County office
🏡 The refrigerator went to a local refugee family’s home
📊 The whiteboard is in the conference room and is being used for small classes. The last class to use it was a medical terminology class taught to refugee clients interested in obtaining their CNA or CMA
🍽 The tables and chairs have been moved to clients’ homes for use in dining rooms and kitchens
Furniture reuse is a win for the environment, the economy, and the community. It’s also a great way to create happy endings!
