After an exhilarating weeklong ski trip out West enjoying the beauty of snowy mountains I was happy to see that some good news came out of Davos.

A new Capgemini survey of 2,000 business leaders from firms with more than $1 billion in annual revenue found that over half (52%) plan to increase their investment in sustainability this year – up significantly from the 33% who said they would increase investment last year.

A whopping 63% said that the business case for sustainability is clear – triple the 21% who agreed with that statement last year.

The growing support for sustainability initiatives among business leaders is being fueled by a brighter economic outlook, federal infrastructure and clean energy spending and fears about the risks associated with climate change. I’m sure the new reporting requirements in Europe and California are also having an impact as companies scramble to meet environmental reporting deadlines over the next two years.

I hope these investments happen and that they translate into real action. Our planet and snowy mountains need it!
