Meet: Mitch Woody
Role: Project Manager
Time with Installnet: 4 1/2 years
What makes a great project manager?
I think it’s the ability to pause and prioritize. New challenges pop up weekly. The key is approaching every situation with a problem-solving mindset to find solutions that work for everyone.
What does a typical day look like?
Fast-paced and never the same. I work closely with Installnet’s service providers while keeping customers informed and projects moving forward. I support several large MillerKnoll dealer accounts, balancing active installs, punch lists, and real-time problem-solving. It keeps me on my toes, and I enjoy that challenge.
Most memorable project?
One standout moment was overseeing a month-long installation in Denver. Being on-site for one of the largest projects I’d worked on was a major learning opportunity, but what stuck with me most was the people. From working shoulder-to-shoulder with the installers to sharing dinner at a partner’s home, the project reinforced for me the importance of the relationships we build every day and that our real value lies in how we show up, solve problems, and support people.
Favorite Installnet tradition?
Hands down: the company’s crab feast at Cantler’s restaurant. Good food, good company, and a chance to connect beyond work and meet my colleagues’ families.
One thing most people don’t know about you?
I grew up as an Air Force kid, born in northern Italy. We moved seven or eight times before eventually settling in Northern Virginia. (Fun fact: His dad served as both a prosecutor and a judge in the Air Force.)
Life after work?
I enjoy working out and watching movies. As a long-time Virginian, Maryland is slowly winning me over with its slower pace and so many great spots to unwind with my wife along the Chesapeake Bay.
