As we’re pulling together annual impact reports for clients and wrapping up our 2023 books, I am excited to announce that 2023 was the most successful year ever for our sustainability program, Ecoserv, and our self-serve platform, Installhub.

Ecoserv: Together with our service providers and clients, we diverted almost 8 million pounds of waste from landfill – a 15% increase over 2022 and the most ever. That’s the equivalent of 11,560 metric tons of CO2e, or in layman’s terms, it’s equivalent to the emissions from a passenger car driving more than 29.6 million miles. Wow.

And we’re just getting started. Demand for our sustainable decommission services – finding reuse solutions for unwanted furniture from offices and other facilities – has never been greater.

It’s challenging, given all the change in commercial real estate as hybrid work becomes the norm and employers restructure to accommodate the new ways of working. Finding a place for all those chairs, desks, tables, lamps and cubicle walls in a flooded market isn’t easy. But our team is committed to keeping as much as possible out of landfill. Instead, we sell, donate or recycle, capturing value for our clients and the community, while protecting the environment.

Installhub: Our self-serve platform for furniture installations also had a record year, with 20% revenue growth and 2090 projects. Software enhancements to the platform helped spur the growth.
